I'm planning to buy a used Fuji xt3, but I don't know how to find the real shutter count. Any ideas?

Thanks,

It depends what you mean by the "real" shutter count.

The XT3 keeps a counter that is incremented for each image taken (this includes both mechanical and electronic shutter) - its also includes bracketed sequences and even pre-shot. This means the number can be much higher than the number of times the mechanical shutter has been used.

The counter is written to each jpg and raf file and can be read using a number of exif viewers. Here is an example (make sure you use an original file straight out of the camera):

FujiFilm Shutter Count

There are a couple of additional caveats - the counter is held in a 16 bit field so it will roll over after at 64K (and a number of popular shutter count web sites roll over at 32K).

Its also possible that the number is reset when the internal battery runs down - perhaps if the camera isn't used for a very long time - I'm not sure about this.

Download https://exiftool.org/ and follow instruction

Exiftool tells the count number I don't know if a Fuji body can reinitialize the count number
