I have a crane M2 that seemed to be working just fine for a month or so. Now I’m having problems. After a minute or so of recording the the gimbal Will just go to sleep and turn off. Sometimes i can turn it back on, sometimes not. The battery is fully charged. The camera/lens is within the payload.i’m not doing anything different than before.

I’ve searched like crazy online and it seems like this has happened to others. That said, it’s not well described and I have not figured out a remedy.

any help from folks on this forum would be much appreciated. If I can’t figure it out I’ll probably just chuck it as it can’t be returned. :-(

One thing to make sure, check to see that you’ve screwed in the handle all the way, if it’s even loose by a hair it’ll turn off. Mine does anyway. Just make sure it’s tightened all the way.

Thanks for the reply! Which screw do you mean? Thx

Well, I should have looked a long time ago but the firmware is totally in need of updating. Not sure why I assumed it was good to go. I'll update now.

Well for anyone who may be interested it is a total freakin' nightmare trying to do firmware updates with zhiyun. For the life of me I can't get the computer to to connect with the gimbal despite downloading their USB cable support files, etc. It's a well documented issue that seems to have never been resolved. I'll keep hacking away for a while but if it doesn't work out soon I'm gonna place the gimbal directly under my truck tire and hit the gas. What a POS!

I have the same problem with mine.

I think the best solution is to make a video of you putting it in the vise and then drenching it with gasoline and then slowly crushing it as you beat it to a pulp with a sledge hammer, then post it on the Zhiyun website and let them know what you think of this big piece of crap!

I threw $200 on mine, it worked one time (while losing balance and going crazy as I was trying to video a wedding. I should have smashed it right there but the bride and groom were walking down the isle and I didn't want them to have to step over the broken parts.

*update* While thinking about this; I got mine back out and started pressing random buttons. Somehow the menu came back up and I pressed this one button and set payload from small to large, then it seemed to start working again. I'll probably smash it anyway but I might try it out again and see how long this piece of junk lasts. Good luck with yours.

I bought a Zhiyun about 4-5 years ago when gimbal prices started to come down. I quickly returned it because any time I tried their website for support, it routed me to a Chinese website in Chinese. It wasn't a help.

I subsequently purchase a Moza and have been happy with it, including their website support.

I guess Zhiyun had not changed.

My Crane Plus works just fine. But once it turned off. I looked at the batteries, and there was a bit of oxide on the contacts, which I managed to clean with a coin, I think. The previous day I used it and probably it was turned on long periods of time, unnecessarily. I don’t know if that was the cause.

Also, check the screw of the part where the batteries go.

If this is not the problem, then I would contact Zhiyun.
