Hi gang,

Just got finished putting up my pictures from Death Valley. Just follow the link below (oh ya, be sure to look at the pictures in the "original" size--I've optimized the images for their native sizes):

http://www.fototime.com/ftweb/bin/ft.dll/pictures?userid= {4FDA92BA-56F1-4F56-870B-DA8124FE03D0}&AlbumId={A461EEC9-DF74-49DE-9E72-68C774DB64CA}&GroupId={F4C70D67-EBF1-4287-AF20-E7507BDFF6B7}

If for some reason the above link doesn't work for you, then just go to fototime.com and click on the guest login link at the right side of the screen. On the page that follows, just type in my e-mail address which is [email protected]. That will take you to my homepage and from there just click on the "Death Valley" folder. Enjoy gang and let me know what you think of them. I had a blast!!!

P.S. Next week I'll post the pictures from Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks.

At first I shot JPEG because I was naive and wanted quantity over quality.
Then I shot RAW, because I was still naive but wanted quality over
quantity. Now I've gone back to JPEG because I'm no longer naive, and I
want both quantity and quality.

Mahesh,

Looking at your pictures I always think how much truth is in the saying "it's not a camera-it's a photographer!" I can't stop wondering if we really have the same camera. (BTW -I love mine)
Man, you rock!

Hi Mahesh -

I have your Death Valley photos gradually downloading in the background on this slow connection - - you got a lot of depth of field in some of them, and good sky.

We're flying down to Las Vegas next month, to drive to the Zion - Bryce area for a week, primary goal being photography. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hey bud,

1. Dress warm (but in layers) because you may get warm going up and down trails in Bryce. Brigh a thin pair of gloves that will keep you relatively warm but won't hinder you from using the camera controls.

2. Take a polarizer...lots of glare off of the slick smooth mountains in Zion.

3. Consider a grad ND filter (soft)--maybe 2 or 3 stops. Zyon canyons are dark and the sky over head is really bright.

4. Bring a nice tele lens with you...lots of deer to see (but you probably get enough of that by where you live already :-))

5. The usual stuff...sturdy tripod, plenty of storage, cable release
