As the title says. I thought I would think of something while out shooting, but was not in need of anything really. Very satisfied with results.

Tried not very long though, showers here, no rainbows, and did not want to test the weatherproofing.

Distance button is nice, but it always was between 10 and infinity.

Since there’s no VR switch on the lens, you may want to assign a function button to disable VR when not needed:

disabling VR will increase battery life and reduce wear of the VR system, for events where fast shutter is mandatory, VR is not needed, same for monopod/rripod work

Very good point. The Z7 i menu allows VR selection as off, on and spt. Not sure if a lens function button can be assigned to VR in the menu.

Disabling VR is not one of the options for either lens Function Button :-(

Actually you can select (MY MENU) for either of the LF buttons and add vibration reduction to "my menu" so you can still access the vibration reduction settings for ON/OFF Sport via the lens, I have the single button set for this , and the 4 button "LF2" set to toggle subject tracking.

there is allways a way, LOL.

maybe I am asking too much.

The lens function buttons are assignable under custom settings (the pencil) f2 and as briantilly explains, no VR.

Remains the Titchy-trick.

Maybe Nikon can make the VR icon on the display just as clever as the touch focus icon just above it. But the memory available for firmware may not be endless.
