Hi all,

I'm new in studio photography, just built my own space at home.

I've just got a parabolic softbox (35 inches) and I'm using my speedlite through it.

Tried my first shots, changing angles and direction from where the light comes and also played with the output power of the speedlite.

Every time, I get a hotspot in my nose.

I uploaded an example. Please check it out.

I wonder, if you could help me out on what should I do to avoid that.

Thanks in advance.

This is related to having shiny skin. Go to the cosmetics aisle in a pharmacy and pick up some blotting papers.

I carry these when I go on portrait shoots: "Natural Bamboo Charcoal Oil Absorbing Tissues - 100 Counts, Easy Take Out Design - Top Oil Blotting Paper"
