This update improves the following issues:
When AF-S mode, the AF operation rarely stops in the middle and the focus indicator lights up even though it is not in focus.

Tamron firmware page

Updated using Windows 10. MacOS 10.15 not supported due to Sony updater still not compatible.

This service is unavailable at this moment due to system error.

To bad it's not available for windows.

Its not available for the latest Mac OS either :(

I am using 10.15.5 and it won't work....

Damn! And I deleted the firmware after I updated mine. Hope there’s no error in it but I tried it out on both my A7RII and III last night and didn’t get a single out of focus image. As it’s still up for Mac (up to 10.14) I’d say it’s an issue with the Sony updater and not the FW. But I did follow the instructions to the letter including removing the SD card.

It's at least good to hear that it fixes the issue.

When I download it earlier this morning using Google Chrome, Chrome flagged the file as a potential dangerous file. So I wonder if Tamron removed the download link to fix that.

I had the same warning but my AV software checked it and allowed me to open it. I followed the on-screen instructions and.....Voila!!...... I now have V.02 on my lens.

I don't know if it fixed the focus problem as I never experienced it to begin with as I mostly use C-AF on my A7III.

I was annoyed to find the firmware update offline for Windows but managed to get it this morning and update the lens on an A9 body without issue.

Updated both Riv and then the 28-200 via the Riv couple of days ago, Windows 10. No problems/quick and easy; and all done on a new Samsung Galaxy Ion I'd just upped the ram to 40gb.

Sony updates have never been as easy as say Fuji but I've done countless sony updates over the years and never bricked one.
