Try lowering video resolution in OBS. This will speed up the camera feed and may overcome the lag that causes the synchronization problem.

You need to install the Virtual Camera plugin, this makes the output from OBS appear as a webcam to Zoom etc. Then select that camera in Zoom. Easy, works well.

Audio is a different issue :-(

Just connect a microphone to the computer's main audio-in port. Then choose the audio source in the chatting app.

I'm doing that, but there's a really annoying lag between the video and audio. Can't figure out how to sync them up.

That's quite common. In OBS audio mixer settings you can adjust the audio latency compensation. ~260ms works for my setup.

That, while what every body does, is a work around; you are effectively bypassing OBS audio completely by doing that.

I was referring to the difficulty of getting audio into OBS, and then out to other software as is so easily done for video.

And if you want to record audio in OBS, you can't bypass it.
