Sony RX0 Mark II vs Huawei P40 PRO PLUS

It's first phone i ever had who can really beat RX0. In standard Auto 12 mpix auto photos looks great, but little bit behind RX0.

My previous tests shows MI10 Pro in pro mode can produce images similar to RX0 if we talk about details, but image is blurry and waxy(here is this test https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/63865526) - only in RAW you can make photo similar to Sony RX0. P40 PRO PLUS takes sharp and natural looking photos without any additional editing and it's amazing. I will leave conclusion to You. In my opinion it's definitely best camera you can buy right now.

The 3x camera is definitely better at retaining detail. The main camera is not that far behind though imo. In the sample you provided, I would say the 3x camera has between 1.5 and 2 times the resolution. The difference between the main camera and the 5x on the P40 Pro is much more noticeable in comparison.

I Agree - main camera offers good quality and almost 3x zoom quality, but dedicated camera gives me the opportunity to catch the optimal scene with preview on the screen. I also really like movies from 3x zoom - quality is really great

On deser comparasion Sony RX0 RAW file vs 50 mpix AI mode straight from camera. I discover you can also zoom to 0,8x and quality from standard 12 mpix mode is even better than 1x P40 PRO Plus is insane camera, i don't want to know what Mate 40 PRO will do

Yes, you can zoom out with the main camera because normally it is a 27 mm crop of a 23 mm sensor. 50 MP and RAW should always be 23 mm photos, but the regular 12.5 MP ones are cropped to 27 mm.

I actually really like the wider FOV because it makes me switch to the UWA cam less often. Which is good, because the UWA cam on the P40 Pro phones is a step back from the P30 Pro...
