I laminate (and glue) my inkjet prints to aluminium composite DiBond and similar. I use a Drytac roller which with due care works pretty well.
I currently use Neshen products like Gudy 802 for the glue, and Filmolux gloss for the over laminate. I found the Fimolux produces an excellent glossy finish and withstands problems like expansion/contraction etc.
The problem is it is relatively soft and marks quite easily, which I warn customers about. It hasn't been an issue yet, since they are art pieces that hang on a wall.
[I have found matt laminates are much more resistant to marking but produce a dull finished photo.]
Since I have mastered this rather fiddly art I want to produce as good a product as I can.
Can anyone recommend a cold-press / pressure sensitive glossy (or semigloss) laminate with a durable finish. In particular I am curious about Drytac's 'Protac' anti-scratch products.
Since I live in New Zealand they are very expensive ($1000+ / roll). Not the sort of thing I can easily trial.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Simon.
