A crisp winters evening and morning....

I'd planned to go out this weekend, the weather looked good, cold and crisp with good light, ideal for getting out of the house. Yesterday afternoon I popped out for an hour or two, hoping to get one thing and came back with something completely different (Isn't that always the case? ), and this morning was similar, but I'm not complaining, I had an enjoyable time on both occasions, all taken with the SD Quattro

Second one is master piece. I like it much.
Thanks, that's a bit of a torture test for the SD Quattro, fortunately it was still enough to use SFD mode.
All are very good but the second is excellent. It's amazing what little light is needed when using SFD. It's a mode I really enjoy using and thoroughly recommend other Quattro users to try it.

I keep reading about how rubbish the Quattro is with images full of noise and poor dynamic range. Doesn't seem to be the case with your photos ;)

Thanks, I agree, though it does need to be really still for SFD mode to work. I did use it for the first shot but there was too much ghosting due to the slower shutter speeds required, but I use it when I can. The thing I like about the Quattto, or foveon sensors, which is rarely mentioned, is that they can pull much more colour from pastel scenes than a bayer sensor.

Very well done!

Quite the quality I struggle to get in harsh lighting. The second shot in particular is impressive. Must try SFD more often & use tripod ...

Thinks, I have it set as a C2 preset, it's very easy to swtich to it and try it and you always have 7 shots to choose from if it fails. You can also combine fewer shots in SPP if one of the longer exposures is causing a ghosting problem, which is often the case.

Yep, tripod needed. I carry a mini tble top tripod in cities as there is often a wall or something to sit it on. Works great with the dp0Q. And yes, the sceme must be free of movement but if it's night time buildings that are the object then cars and people walking about are fine as it adds interest.

We should have another thread on using SFD as it gets forgotten. I know it can be done o any camera by manually adjusting the exposure for seven shots but the Quattro makes it very simple. The 2nd photo of the OP is an superb example of what can be done.

Magnificent work!

Just lovely colors. The 5th one was the one that I particularly enjoyed. Nicely done!
