Jim,

Bought the camera on ebay has major problems, including a cracked pentaprism glas and out of alignment lens mount which doesn't recognize any attachment of the lens, talked to seller that I'll send it to canon in IL, but I guess he thinks it is more expensive if repaired by canon, I paid with paypal, up until now he seems to be willing to work it out but well see what is gonna happen.
So that is why I am looking for a local camera repair shop.

call up canon and see if they can recommend anyone...

i would stay away from local guys, especially if it's a dslr... not too many repair shops know what to do with them and/or have the necessary parts to repair them properly...

Thank you for the advise. I would like to have it repaired by canon too, but the gentleman that I bought it from wants to try local shops first.It is not a DSLR, sold my D30 and D60 and waitig for the 10D. I found a local camera repair shop who quoted 170-210 for every kind of repair on eos 3. I am not sure if if it is realistic, brocken pentaprism and brocken plastic part of the lens mount. Now I know why is the eos 1V twice the price of eos 3.
