My Sigma arrived yesterday - not really had a chance to play with it at length but first impressions are really positive. The lens feels QUALITY, well made and handles beautifully. Love the bokeh on this lens.

Nice!

The first one has quite circular bokeh shapes although it is a bit stopped down.

I was surprised with the "intensity" of the bokeh in the 4th image at f/3.2

I choose the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 art as i can use that one on the R too, and because it is slightly wider. Still seeing these kind of results it is tempting to get me a 56mm.

In a dual camera set up having the 50mm on the R i can't use it at the same time on the M50, so i have to carry the 50-100mm f/1.8 on that one, or..... the 56mm. Is dat a good excuse? Is there any better excuse? :)

I know the 50-100 - great lens but HEAVY! The 56/1.4 is not too heavy at all but beautifully built. Sigma do make lovely-feeling lenses nowadays to match the great optics they have been making for years and their EF-M range is no exception...

Likin the round bokeh balls at f1.8!

looks like fun

set it to f1.4 and keep it there :)

more f1.4 shots please! make me want one! I know you can do it! :)

That is it I was just about to post who has it and how do you like it. The first post was yours convinced me already. very affordable and can produce. I have to have it

Great examples from your new lens. That first shot has great color, composition & bokeh.

Looks like such a great little lens and I can see myself bringing my M5 more as a second body with my R for weddings with this little guy hmmm... I usually adapt my 50L and use that because I love the rendering but this looks amazing!!! Damn your killing us with these samples!!!

he shoots weddings too. He has M50. M50 has -2 EV @ f2. Your M5 has 1 EV less at -1 EV @ F2. His is on the border of being ok. On yours, it would be a crap shoot acquiring focus in certain lower light. He is waiting for M5II. You are waiting for M5II. I am waiting for M5II....

I would only use the M5 during the formal getting ready shots in proper daylight and she works well but for low light the R & 5D IV are where it's at for me lol :)

:)

I hope they give us an M5II, then it could be a second camera for me, instead of a limited use third for you :)

MAC you've nailed it - you know me well!!

Hi!

The lens seems to product great results! I do like that bokeh, too. I'd describe it peaceful, if not creamy. Effect is clear especially at the first photo...

This is very tempting…. ;-)
