A couple of mentions of firmware 3.1 for the Oly M1 mk2 have been made in this thread, which is news to me. An online search only produces firmware 3. So is there really a version 3.1 ?

yes 3.0 had problems. 3.1 is great so far.

Yes, it was released in July of this year. Includes relatively minor changes:

• Stability of operation when shooting still images has been improved.
• Stability of EVF operation when the camera is turned on has been improved.

Many thanks but I already found the answer. A couple of weeks ago in anticipation of my new mk ii arriving I downloaded the new firmware for use with an SD card. When the camera arrived and I found it has V3 I thought that was it. However, in the last few minutes I unpdated the firmware by the SD card, and the camera now shows Firmware 3.1. Many thanks to this thread for waking me up!

One thing I forgot to mention, I was running a non Olympus battery for the first time. I have run off brand batteries on other cameras but not this one. Do you all think this could have caused the shutter to malfunction?
