I'm finding the high-res EVF and the focus aids (peaking yellow "low" or split image) so comfortable and accurate, that I end up choosing to manual focus 90% of the time even when using Fuji's own AF lenses... (except of course when photographing moving subjects, which for me is a relatively rare occurrence).

Not having to move the focus point around and just being able to use the whole screen all the time is such a more "natural" experience!

This has led me to invest in a few "proper" MF lenses, such as the lovely Voightlander 40/1.2 VM, mostly for the even nicer focusing experience provided by a real mechanical elicoid.

A few recent manually-focused shots (all sooc-JPEGs), just for illustration:

Marco.

I like very much the one with the staircase

Focus peaking is also useful in AF to refine it when the AF system is at a trouble (low light or contrast)

Manual focus is the best...unless one's eyesight is poor or manual focus is not possible.
