Custom button for Memory Recall?

I see that any button can be mapped to "Memory". But that just allows the current settings to be saved to memory.

I'd like a custom button mapped to "Memory Recall" so that I can more quickly access the MR 1/2/3/4 settings.

I know about Recall Custom Hold option, but that requires the button to be held down or the recalled settings don't persist.

Any ideas appreciated,

I haven’t checked for a solution because I suspect that it would be against the principle of not being able to choose a setting via a button that conflicts with a current mode/dial setting on the camera.

For example, someone the other day wanted a button to set exposure compensation. How can you expect to do that if the compensation dial shows a different, pre-set reading? In this thread, how can you choose via a button to select MR1 if the mode dial is in MR2?

Above all, personally I don’t think it’s asking too much if you only have to twiddle a knob to get what you want.

I'm trying to set-up faster access to the 3rd and 4th Memory settings. These can't be accessed by twiddling a knob; they can only be access via diving into the huge menu system -- not practical when you want to switch from Memory #2 to Memory #3 on the fly.

Does anyone else have a tip?

I have recall memory set in one of the spots in the function menu.

You can also select one of the M1-M4 settings when you toggle between MR1 and MR2 in the mode dial.

Really, more quickly than turning a knob and looking at the screen..!? Seems you should remember how you've set the memorys in the first place.

If you have an A7iii (not sure about the other models) you can access all the MR saves that you have by twiddling to MR1 or MR2 then scrolling across to the other MR saves that you have....
