Hi All,
I've been able to take my brand new A7R IV (when I was booking my trip I didn't think I would get this body - I was still happy A7R III user) to one of most beautiful polish mountains - Bieszczady. Although its still not November and colors are mostly green - the long grass already become yellow and some berry-bushes are red.
Before I share my photos some comments about usability.
First of all - it is true that Real Time Tracking changes the way one use AF at all. No need to use any other mode, have touch screen or joystick. Just point what interests you in the scene and freely recompose, zoom etc - and the camera will keep that 'whatever' in focus
Boomer.
The 24-105 G f/4, which is my basic travel lens does a good job - although is some conditions it's not able to keep up with those all 61 megapixels - especially with distant subjects (but this is also a case of air haze etc). The other thing - if you peek at pixel level the DoF becomes shallower than expected (yes, yes, I know that DoF does not depend on pixel count) - but IF you are looking at single pixels then some things become unsharp faster (then the problem is gone, when image is rescaled, of course).
Files are now a bit more difficult to process. I'm using LR with my own colorchecker/Lumariver produced profile. Better than Adobe's "beta" - but I hope LR will get a "kick" with real profile. Comparing to R3 I have to apply a bit more noise reduction (again comparing pixel level). I wrote in different thread that C1-opened files look much sharper and less noisy.
The GPS-tagging link with (still crappy) Imaging Edge Mobile (on iPhone) works well. No need to restarts, links always goes up when camera is enabled. You only need to restart app on the iPhone if you use a lot of other apps and Imaging Edge gets killed by iOS.
So the pictures. Almost all done with ETTR (on base or second-base ISO) using standard picture profile with Zebra on +109%. All are 4K with DisplayP3 profile.

Best regards,
Pawel.
