I've had a ZS200 for about a month now and wonder if anyone has had this problem. I transfer the media from the camera to my phone via USB into the iphone photos app. Everything works great except the video's time shows as 4 hours too early (not the photos). The time zone setting (new york) and daylight savings (and time) are correct on the camera and on the phone.

I just ran a test and copied the file directly from the SD card. The file's time shows correctly but when I bring it into iphoto the time is also 4 hours earlier like on the phone.

Any ideas why this is happening?

The time in the EXIF data of still images is defined to be stored in GMT (Greenwich mean time) which would be 4 hours _later_ than your current time. So the iPhone would have to subtract 4 hours from the stored time. Movies don't have EXIF data. It would appear that the iPhone or your photo app is subtracting 4 hours from the file date (which is stored in GMT by both camera and iPhone, assuming an Extfs file system, namely an SDXC card of size 64GB or greater) which is already corrected for local time zone by either camera (possibly if you are using a FAT32 file system on an SDHC card of 32GB or less) or iPhone.

My guess is that this is a "legacy" problem of the FAT32 support and that you have a card of size 32GB or less. Other people don't complain because of larger card sizes in use, or the photo/video app has some specific setting to change the date.

Sorry I don't have either a SZ200 or an iPhone, so I can just throw out guesses. The problem is pretty sure related to the timezone, but you probably knew that.

It's a 64gb SDXC card formatted in the camera. Mac reads it as ExFAT.
i have the same problem but with 2 hours time difference between videos and photos. Photos have the correct time. Videos not. But they have before I import them to my iPhone. I even can see the correct time at my iPhone before importing. But after importing videos are +2h, so in the future.

I have the same issue on the TZ100, +2h on the videos when compared to the photos when files have been transferred from SD to a Windows 10 PC.

I thought it’s maybe something due to exif info and gmt time. That maybe the pictures and videos have actually the same time stamp but because of the exif infos and the Stored gmt time the iPhone or pc corrects the time stamp due to this infos. And on videos you don’t have Exif infos. Therefore there is no change and a difference in the time. But I wasn’t able to reproduce this problem tomorrow my theory.
