Read from page 10 of the 90D spec sheet pdf.
Why isn’t anyone talking about this yet? For certain shooters with supported recording monitors, this is a gigantic plus.

Canon seems to have a love for the XXD. It always seems to have more capability for the price than other lines. One disappointment is that they seem to have taken a step backwards by dropping the high bitrate all key frame video compression used in the 80D.

Probably because Canon uses their lower end cameras to introduce and test out new capabilities and hardware before it rolls into their high end cameras. For a lower end consumer camera, it doesn't matter if a feature doesn't work right out of the box, while for a higher end camera, there is much more of an expectation that the camera needs to work right out of the box flawlessly.

Being a hybrid shooter with an 80D, I think I definitely will miss the 100Mbps - 23.97p All-Intra recording :(

For anyone curious, the closest the 90D has to the above is the 30Mbps - 30fps IPB recording, with the 60fps being 60Mbps and the 120fps being 120Mbps, which is the same bitrate as the 4K 30p.

Probably because there is no C-Log to push the grading and gain more dynamic range, so the benefits are reduced considerably in that regard.

Searching for this - cannot find anything in the manuals or spec sheets. Can you point me in the right direction? Also, what does it say about the M6 Mark II?

Here you go. I can also personally confirm since I got the 90D yesterday.

And I have no idea about the m6ii. Go to canon website then search for that camera then click on specifications then click on “download full specification pdf”

This screenshot is from Page 10 of that full spec. pdf for the 90D.

This is great.... but, I have been spending HOURS trying to find this on the Canon website. If I may be so bold to beg, could you post a link? It may be that I am locked out of the (presumably) American canon.com website due to my location (Australia).

Sure thing it’s not a problem.

Here is a direct link to the 90D full specification pdf. & I believe this is from Canon Global so I would assume you can access this link without any issues.

Someone highlighted this spec detail to me a couple of weeks ago but now we've got the camera in our hands, I've been able to check it.

The camera only outputs a 10-bit signal in 'HDR HDMI' mode, which is solely used for giving an HDR view in playback mode for Raw files.

In both 1080 and 4K video modes, the output is only 8-bit (which makes sense, since there's no Log curve to make use of 10-bit quality).

Thanks a ton for this info Richard. So to my understanding, even if we have an external 4K 10-bit recorder, we can only record in 8-bit even with the “clean 4K HDMI out” option?

That's correct.

Hey so even if I use the James Miller CLOG then it still won't do 10 bit? I know the James Miller CLOG isn't real CLOG but I was wondering if it would achieve that effect.

There is no way of getting 10-bit video out of the 90D that I know of.
