I am by no means a street photographer but I believe the combination of the M5 (or any other M for that matter) with the amazing 22mm is exactly what you need. Small, light, fast and the field of view is just right.

***One tip (from an experienced photographer) that has helped me a lot is shooting RAW but setting the picture style as monochrome. That way you can understand the light better (assuming you are an amatuer like me).

Your photos are terrific! You have a good eye and an understanding of composition. While the images are crisp and clear, I have the feeling it doesn't matter what equipment is in your hands, the results would be equally impressive.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I do believe the same about the gear, gear does not matter, it is just a tool. But you have to admit that the 22mm is just what a street photographer needs :-P

These are all excellent. Forgive my late reply... I had "liked" this image-post earlier today but had no time to reply until I got home again. Clearly the M5 + 22mm make for an excellent pair for all-day carry as a street kit. The detail and contrast you've wrung from these shots is marvelous.

Thank you very much for your kind words. All images are SOOC except the first one, which is a litle bit processed in Snapseed.

Agreed. I am keening keeping my eye out for the successor to the M50 & the 22m is on my wish list.

I bought the M5 last year so I am probably not going to spend any money on a new camera, however any new prime lens is very much welcome. Also I think for my kind of usage, the M5 is much more capable than I need it to be :-)
