L-bracket for Sony A7R3

Hi all, i had a Gabale l-bracket on order but its canceled because it is out of stock. Does anyone have a good alternative ? I really like the RSS bracket which is really really expensive unfortunately.

I like the l-bracket for extra grip and arca swiss compability.

It is definitely inferior to the RRS bracket in fit and finish, but I'm completely satisfied with it.

Differences: RRS bracket has a gasket around the battery area to help keep it weather sealed, this has no such gasket. RRS bracket has a magnetic area so you always have the allen wrench on hand, this knockoff has no such storage solution, so keep it in your bag. Also the allen wrench it came with was trash (soft metal, strips easily). For $30 total, I love this thing though I have lots of that same size allen wrench, so no big deal. It's easily a 4/5 star product if you temper expectations.

Thats a good alternative for the Gabale, but like Gabale currently unavailable ....

The one-star review there is user error. You have to remove the battery door from the camera, then put the door on the bracket itself.

I have the really right stuff L bracket on my A7R3. Just bought the A9, didn’t really want to pay $200 again for the RRS. I found the Gable L bracket on eBay for $58.99 in black. Not as quiet as weathered sealed at the battery door but for $58 it is pretty much an exact clone and is very nice. Took about nine days to receive it. The ad said sold by “US dolls” in stock in the USA.

The Smallrig L bracket is my fav and fits well with my A7iii, A7Riii, and A9 cams. You don't have to remove the battery door, and it has multiple 1/4" threads for addons such as a cold shoe

Thnx, i ordered the Gabale L-plate on AlieExpress. I ordered the black version. I like red but when i attach a 70-200mm lens on my A7R3 it will look like a colored christmas tree

If you like the RRS bracket get the one on eBay that is a clone other than it does it hold the hex wrench. $58.99 versus $200 I have both and can’t hardly tell the difference in the between them.

The Smallrig brackets were interesting, but the forced grip extension made it a non-starter for me.

I saw multiple sellers in eBay are selling Gabale L-plate from China or Hong Kong however that will take longer time to arrive but also cheaper than from US sellers.

I bought Gabale L-plate, one each for A9 and A7r III and quite satisfied. The main reason is that it also removes the battery door from camera body to L-plate so save me a bit time to swap with a Sony OEM vertical power grip that of course requires to remove the battery door from camera body.

Hijacking this thread...

I have the SmallRig L-Bracket and while it certainly improves the handling, I don't like that even when tightened you can slightly rotate it, which causes the front part to scrape the camera body and that the pinky grip part is fatter than the actual grip. Could be better...

So I checked out the Gabale L-Bracket and the Stabil LSIII mentioned here. The Stabil thingy looks great but isn't available in Germany + it has its tripod thread off-center.

But how many versions of the Gabale are there? I found various offers, each being slightly different.

All I want is a grip extension that sits flush and secure (through bolts, a lip or whatever) with the body that also allows me to mount it onto a tripod. That being said, an incorporated lug like on the Stabil would be awesome.

Which one should I get?
