Why is my Nikon D5300 taking blurry images?

I do not know what it is taking these blurry images. I tried to reset the camera by pressing info and menu at the same time and it did not seem to solve the issue.

You can see the following two images and let me know what might be the problem.

It appears that the shutter speed was a slow 1/60s which would cause camera motion blurring of the image. Set the camera for Shutter Priority and a shutter speed of 1/250s and see what you get.

I would also take the lens off the camera and hold it up so you can look through it with the light from behind, ceiling light would be fine. See if it is completely clear when looking through the lens. If moisture got inside then the lens is the problem.

Do a manual focusing of the lens with a subject outdoors and again with the 1/250s shutter speed and using Shutter Priority mode and see what you get. If the image is OK then try the autofocus by first having the camera focus on something less than 5 feet from the camera and look through the viewfinder to see if the focus is correct and then focus on something 15 feet away and verify that it too is showing as being properly focused.

If the camera is not focusing then it is time to check the camera settings and the lens settings to be sure that both are set up for autofocus.

..Yes, you should post in the below forum..

"Nikon DX SLR (D40-D90, D3000-D7500) Talk"

..from looking at your picture, seems like the blurry could be caused from a low quality lens filter..

..if you have a lens filter on your lens, try taking it off..

..happy shooting my friend..

..Cheers..
