I have had no interest in the EOS R at all until I seen the 10 bit 422 footage output with CLOG into the external recorder.

I mean look how good these shots look, incredible:

This still leaves me waiting for one with 60 FPS with 4k though but man that looks good. That looks better than my 5D Mark IV footage because of the 10 bit 422.

I really like that they have that ND filter adapter but I wish there was a way to do that with the new lenses as well. Obviously the new lenses don't need to be adapted, but I wonder if someone will create an adapter type thing for the purpose of having ND filters.

I had no idea the EOS R could do this, I thought it was a failure of a camera because I had not come across this. This one thing changes a lot for film makers. Sony footage doesn't look anywhere near that good. Crop factor doesn't bother me, that just feels like using a 7D or something.

I just still consider it a downgrade from my 5D Mark IV in the photo department because it doesn't have the two card slots and there's not 60FPS 4k. But the next one I'm sure will probably be for me.

Does anyone here have any 10 bit 422 footage of the EOS R doing 1080p 60FPS in slow motion or uploaded at 60FPS? If so I'd like to see it and did you use C LOG and the same atomos recorder the guy in the video has?

This weekend, I shot a local marathon race, and then an engagement session. In both cases, I recorded both 1080p 60 fps, and 4K 24 fps - with the 1080p being 8-bit log recorded to the Ninja V, and the 4K being 10-bit log recorded to Ninja V. I also used a second EOS R on a gimbal, recording 1080p 60 fps using the 8-bit internal log. Unfortunately, I haven't really had a chance to look closely at the footage. So far, I've just uploaded everything into Final Cut Pro. Will begin looking over / grading the footage this week.

EOS R can not record 10bit 422 in 1080p externally. Only 4k.
1080p is "limited" to 8bit 420... but still looks amazing.
