Hi all,

On Saturday I took a great trip with friends.

Unfortunately during the trip I stumbled on some rocks and my beloved d750 (that served me honorably for 3 years) took a hit,

one of the strap holders penetrated the body slightly As you can see in the shot:

Few questions come to mind:

Is it fixable?

Is it worth fixing?

Is the weather sealing now gone?

selling it might be impossible , so I might as well keep it until it breaks all together as my battered go anywhere camera.

I am also not a working pro, nor ever gonna be.

So one more options is to take the opportunity to sell my Nikon lenses and grow my Fuji system which is now composed of an XT-20 , 56 1.2 and 16-50.

while my Nikon is composed of the 180 2.8 , 80-200 , 105 macro , 50 1.8 , Tamron 17-35 2.8-4 and the 24-120.

So I am thinking of selling the XT-20 for XT-3 , and go from there.

Any advise?

Best regards

Ben

The top cover will cost around $200, that's the part, add labor, maybe another $200. I'd go that route if I were you. HTH....

Nah, not that high. The top cover for a D5 is actual metal, and it is only $100. I would call Kurt's camera repair in San Diego. I think they could fix it for less than $250.

I would be glad to hear that it costs less!

x2 for Kurt's.

Is the only damage cosmetic? Will it power on? Still shoot? Focus ok? If so, then it probably isn't too bad. When they need to calibrate things like the focus or play with the shutter, labor goes up.

If you do go with Kurt's, ask to speak to Cliff. He is great!
