Amazon doesn't have any stock left. Just placed the order with B&H. Hope this little flash could last long.

I have this and really enjoy it. It's not the brightest thing ever, but the size pairs well with the GR, and the features are really nice for the price.

it's just 113 grams...very light and compact. 10*6*2.8 cm only...

Can you use two of these flashes together, triggered off of the same trigger? I doubt I ever would, but just wondering.

Cheers

Yes, it can trigger up to 8 flashes from the one transmitter. 7 levels of power can be controlled from the up/down buttons on the transmitter. I bought 2 of the $26 receivers for my Nissin and Godox flashes and had 3 flashes bouncing off the ceiling at a recent event, all wireless. Very cool.

Sexy little set up Sal...

Is it much brighter than the original on board flash?
Yes, it's not powered by the camera battery and it tilts fully upward for nicer bounce flash.
It’s a 2 pocket camera.
Yes, it's an on-camera/off-camera radio transmitter and flash that requires another small pocket, just like any other camera would with wireless flash.

Makes for one of the smallest off camera flash setups there is though

Amazing for the price.
I almost never use flash but wanted to buy one of these like 3 monthes ago. Unfortunately, in Europe you almost have to pay like 50% more (almost 120 usd) :(

Thanks for this tip!

I received mine last week-end, and I love it so far.

BTW, I've been having fun with the colour gels on the flash in combination with some of the coloured Cokin A-series filters that I purchased in the early 90ies and that had been in a box for 20+ years. Back then I got these with an adapter for the F-series kitlens on my SFXn to try some B&W photography. However, I never really got used to them so I forgot about them until I came across them in a box a few days ago (while looking for a 49mm polarizer). Thanks to the 49mm thread on GA-1 adapter I'm now rediscovering all those creative filters, taking full advantage of the immediate feedback that digital offers. Feels like moving to digital all over again! :-D

And the colour gels are great with those! Makes for some funky colour transitions between foreground (coloured by gel+filter) and background (only coloured by filter). I'm not sure anything good will come out of that, but at least it's fun!!

grtz, Wim

You shouldn't need to do anything. Ricoh GR III (as well as previous iterations) will always send trigger signal for external flash. Since this is just a manual flash with no P-TTL support, the flash settings in Ricoh menus have no effect. The only thing with this specific flash that you need to be aware of, as far as camera settings are concerned, is that should use shutter speed of 1/1000s or less. This is limitation of Q20II, not the camera - there is slight delay in wireless signal and at faster shutter speed, the flash will not reach full power before shutter closes. It will still trigger though.

If the flash is not triggering, the issue is likely in the flash itself. You should check you can trigger the flash manually from the wireless transmitter (pressing the right/star button for couple seconds). And check that it's in the hot shoe in right orientation and properly pushed in (I've heard of someone pushing it in backwards - the buttons to regulate flash output on the trigger should be towards the back of the camera). Lastly, the light on the transmitter should light up when it transmits trigger signal (red in my case).
