its 2019, my 2 are still working well, acquired used, superb T*lens, flash, macro.

more than the sum of its parts - color rendition is wonderful - flesh tones perfect with flash flash portraits are exceptional.

1000 fine jpeg shots on a 2gb sd card. manual controls not found on other compacts today.

classic Contax viewfinder - image rectangle, surrounded by black, parallax corrected.

2 inch LCD is an anachronism today but keeps battery life long.

titanium casing is not painted, plated, coated. panels are solid, extruded, not stamped out.

the brilliant Kyocera company really thought this one out well. quality leather case supplied with camera.

found a later contax-branded BC-1000 fast battery charger new, someone made the bc-2 again its a shame that the camera won't be (in an updated form).

there is a last version of firmware, with previous version on Flickr, as as links in English.

I use previous version, works well.

That's a long life for a digicam. Interesting to learn. My 1999 Kodak DC280 died after about 9 years. But my two tiny 2007 Canon TX1s (with 35-741mm zoom, macro focus down to zero cm from the front of the lens, and stereo sound recording) standbys for many years, still function.
