The FZ1000 II has a larger 1" sensor that limits the zoom range .

Thanks for the comparison. I've been considering adding the new A1000 to my kit so it's interesting to see how a comparably sized Panasonic ZS looks next to a P1000.

I like to document such comparisons within my own gear. When I moved from my P530 (since gifted to a family member) to the B700, I took these shots. The visual difference wasn't particularly striking.

OTOH, when I added the P1000 to the B700, well, the images speak for themselves.

Stop agonizing. If you take more than 50% long zoom, then the P1000 is first choice. If you take a lot of scenic-wide angles, and some 400mm (usually what gets taken for zoom) and rarely those incredibly wonderful bird shots, pick one of the other cameras. Wide angle on the P1000 is below average--and I have tested it, but, and it's a big BUT, it blows away the other cameras at zoom end. Also, if you like 4K video, then also consider that.
