I was amazed to be able to shoot into the sun and get a pretty good image. To be honest at the price this lens is pretty good and all with a hood, bag and 5 year warranty. As said my main kit is Fuji and the object was to have lighter kit for casual walk about and it does the job a treat. Having brighter conditions has bought the viewfinder into the question and it is a bit of a let down against some of the cameras I have owned but there is always a trade off weight vs features. ( you never get anything for nothing in life) Stopping down to 7.1/8 does help with the corners. If you were to ask me the one thing that affects my use it would be the viewfinder and the small AF point that you really do have to look for and I have had to have the AF beep on all the time. The VR works a treat on the lens. There you go, I hankered for a light carry anywhere camera and wanted a DSLR and this fits the bill quite nicely.
