Ok so I am racking my brain and patience over this. My new Flashpoint R2 Pro S transmitter and R2 receiver are not firing my non flashpoint flashes or strobes, have tried hot shoe mounted Yongnuo and PC Link Neewer Strobe with no luck. Here are the specifics.

- Flashpoint R2 Pro S, R2 R S

- Sony A7iii

- All manual, no TTL

- Channels/Groups all match

- R2 Pro S fires eVolv 200 flawlessly as designed

- Test fire from both transmitter/receiver fire both hotshoe mounted flash and PC link connected strobe

So it seems communication between transmitter/receiver is fine, I have to assume there is a disconnect on how the camera is talking to the transmitter when trying to fire when actually depressing shutter.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you put the flash in the receiver in TTL mode? It needs to be in that mode for the receiver to control it even when using the flash in manual mode.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I've tried it in TTL and no luck. I'm thoroughly confused at this point.

1. Check sync speed / HSS settings

2. Make sure shutter mode is on single, not multi or quiet.

Have you checked to make sure both the XPro-S transmitter and X1R-S receiver are on the latest version of their respective firmware ? IIRC, the X1R-S needed to be updated to work with manual (non-TTL) lights, and via the PC sync port.

The latest version of the X1R-S is v05. You check it by holding down the GR button while turning it on. From the revision history:

Also, now you know why some of us recommend just getting a $65 Godox TT600 (or, if you ever want to use it on the multi interface hotshoe, the TT600S variant) instead of a $40 X1R receiver to slap on the foot of a YN-560 or Neewer TT560/Amazon Basics. :) A lot of us find the extra $25 is worth it for the built-in radio trigger and power control/HSS capability.
