I bought this to keep in my briefcase and for casual outing to market. Same great images as the XT2, with the smaller lenses it is more compact. In my case I did dive into the manual to figure as few things out.

The X-E3 is an amazing rangefinder-style camera. Do enjoy it! Only possible issue is the absence of the Dpad.

I'm evaluating the purchase of X-E3 or X-T100. I'm a bit undecided in the choice. X-E3, on the market for over 1 year, costs at least 50% more than X-T100 (it has only been released for some months). X-E3 has X-Trans sensor and has no openable display. X-T100 has Bayer sensor with openable diplay. X-E3 is more elegant and compact and with a pancake lens can be pocketable. I believe that in the end the real difference is the lenses that apply. I think that for photos with low light, without flash, the two cameras can be equivalent. https://cameradecision.com/compare/Fujifilm-X-E3-vs-Fujifilm-X-T100

There is one big difference- the X-E3 is the only one with Acros, which could be major if you like black and white. It’s put me off colour.

Yeah I couldn't survive without Acros anymore.

I actually love the rocker, or whatever it is they call it. The screen swipe takes some getting used to. I assigned all the screen functions to command dials. Makes things way easier.

The kind of photography that I like is architecture and photos with low light in the evening. In general I really like black and white and at least 80% of the photos that I post in Flickr are in black and white. I do not know Acros so now I document this way.

You need to try a Fuji with Acros. There are 3 filters, plus you can make "recipes" by altering highlights and shadows and whatnot. I generally dont need to touch my files anymore, they go straight on Flickr. But you may want to look for a Fuji with a flip screen for architecture (Acros should be the priority).

Acros + red filter with altered settings makes for my favourite photographs. I also rarely (if ever) postprocess any of my B&W pictures.

I am going to add that as a custom mode. It is cool seeing how the filters affect the shades of grey using the in-camera RAW processing. Doing it on a PC is really helping me understand the filter differences and get better settings. I think 5 of my 7 custom modes will end up Acros. A couple of weeks ago I was 90% Velvia, but that gimmick has worn off. Now 90% Acros and if the color works in a scene it is just one button press to go to color in custom mode 1.

My first shooting experience with a Fuji was in Southern India and I shot almost exclusively Velvia. It does give some really nice punchy colours and I'd hazard that by and large it's the best default filter to use for landscape travel shots. Since then, I have hardly ever used it! Now I generally default to either Acros + Red or Astia with reduced colours and somewhat increased contrast.

I definitely want to re-visit India just for photography and that is the one place where Velvia would be amazing imo. The colorful markets, lush green fields with a woman walking alone with an umbrella along the backwater in Kerala, colourful sunsets and boulders in Hampi, maybe just turn to Acros for the Himalayas where it is snowing. Would also be ideal in Varanasi or cities but I will not be visiting those again, too grim.

I am generally preferring less contrast Acros settings, but that is probably due to living in an extremely sunny place (Thailand), so I need to avoid clipping highlights.

I've used both and the X-E3 will focus much faster particularly in low light. X-T100 is a little bit sluggish in comparison. IQ is very comparable.
