I enjoy you pic very much and get to see an awfully lot of good work from around the world. I cannot figure out why DPreview bans the word you pic when you do not put a space in it.

I have read that some felt they were spamming but why us DPreview so sensitive about this web site. They have tens of thousands of photographers using the site from all over the world I quite enjoy and recommend it.

That site is not a photo sharing site like flicker and such....and I believe is banned for their SPAMMING practices and commercial per click practices. You can get paid when folks click on the URL in a post were you link to your pick. By definition, the DPR guidelines do not allow that

I have been on it for three months and as far as my experiences it is exactly like 500px. format or other sites. You can follow othter photographers they can follow you and you can like and recieve likes for your work. The thing I really like about it is when studying others work I can click and see what aperture or shutter speed they used and lens etc. I have learned a lot got a lot of ideas.

I have read about spamming but I have to wonder if that was not a few years back because I have seen nothing of the kind. It might be that it got a bad rap a few years back because I cannot possible figure out why DPR would find anything offensive or against their rules. I would love to be able to get paid if someone clicked but I am not that that information is correct or maybe it was something they did in the past?

I see no way whatsoever to get paid unless you set up a store and post photos.

I highly recommend it and perhaps the moderators may want to take another look at this site I find it very good.

They have different "levels". For you that may be the case at the moment...for others it is not and may not be for you in the future. Hence the site ban. They are not alone in that

what is wrong with a level it has to do with how many photos you have uploaded and how popular they are. I think that is a fine thing?

For someone who has five hundred photos with 5,000 likes to achieve a level or rating versus someone with half that is not a lot different than listing the number of posts on dpr. I just don't get or understand the rub and think that maybe you are misinformed.

Depending on the level...it becomes commercial SPAM (you get paid per click). That's not permitted here per the guidelines as it's seen as/becomes "Commercial website linking or advertising is not allowed,.... This rule includes owners of other digital photography websites promoting themselves on the forum"

My opinions are my own and not those of DPR or its administration. They carry no 'special' value (except to me and Lacie of course)

I am not arguing but who is getting paid per click I am level 17 ranked 1400th out of about 200,000 and I am not getting paid per clicks i have no idea what you are talking about or how you pic is promoting themselves i have never seen them promote the site or any work on the site.

i have googled them to death and cannot find anything other than several years ago small handful of people said they were spamming them are you sure they even to that anymore now that they have such a large audience?

I am not arguing but who is getting paid per click
Many have used the site to monetize clicks/URLS to their images there

Perhaps you don't know all the ends and outs there. It's a banned URL here for a reason...AFAIK.

You seem to be promoting it very hard. The site also often SPAMs (aggressively) numerous photographers to get them to "Join". It's one of the many complaints folks have with it as well. Not saying you are one of those folks....but you did ask why and I did my best to explain why.

Good Luck otherwise. Might be helpful to also use a less controversial site to photo share here. Many do here with no issue. Enjoy the day

You are right I do promote things I find enjoyable and valuable.

Until I run across the things you mention I am very happy it is my favorite site out of 500px and Format and you pic.

What does AFAIK stand for also I do not know that one?

Thanks,
