Any recommendations for backing up files w/o a computer?

I normally pack a laptop while traveling but for a upcoming trip I'm trying to go light as possible. I stumbled across one product that will pull your files from a SD card onto a drive but $400 for a 256GB model seems a bit pricy when you can get a stand alone external 256 SSD for $100 these days.

any cheaper alternatives out there?

Might wanna look at the WD wireless. I think the Hdd version is cheaper but slower. Depends on how much you handle your stuff

Does your Cell phone have USB-C and USB-OTG support? If so, get a USB-C card reader that also has a USB port, then connect a portable hard drive or large capacity USB stick to it, and transfer from card to external storage using your cell phone. Some even have a USB C power input, to help power everything and to charge the phone.

The Western Digital units that others mentioned are among the cheapest ones available.

My Passport Wireless Pro

My Passport Wireless SSD

Everything else seems to be off your list, for one reason or another.

Canon has a "Canon Connect Station CS100 Storage Device" with a 1 TB hard drive. It is under $200, but "dedicated to Canon cameras & camcorders". (Nikon, Pentax, and Sony users, no soup for you!)

There are the NEATO Di units, but some of those are more than $2000. There's a Sanho Hyperdrive unit that costs about $500.

Long ago, there were pricey Epsons prized for good color screens. Not now. A few years ago, there were cheap barebones units from some company that I had never heard of. The price might have been right, but they also appear to be extinct.

From your cell phone do you need a app that comes with reader or does it show up some where on phone? Thanks
