Just in case some of you have missed the news. Canon have announced the successor to the S9000, it's the i9100 an A3+ printer. Shame they couldn't have gone the whole distance and launched a i9500.

I have posted full details of this printer on my site.

Borderless all the way to 13x19 (a3+). Great!

Am I right in thinking that this printer doesn't have the same leap forward over the S9000 as the i950 did over the s900? ie. the drop size is still 4pl compared to the i950's 2pl.

Thanks WP

I was just about to order an S9000. I think I'll hold off until the i9100 is available ;-)

Vincent's review also led me to believe it only delivers 4pl drops, if it uses the same printhead as the i950, shouldn't it also deliver 2pl drops?
Otherwise the only "upgrade" is borderless 13"x19"???????
It uses the same printhead desing as the i950.

From what I have seen this printer falls 400 short of being an i9500, Canon says it can't get enough of the new heads to incorporate it in this printer. Perhaps we may still see an i9500 at a later stage.

...for your updates and all the info on your site...
...think maybe I'll use the i950 'til the i9500 surfaces...
buzzy

I'll second that.

I purchased the i950 in large part to the feedback I've gotten in this forum and Vincent's review. And I've found the i950 to be every bit as good as everyone states. This is coming from someone who looks for banding and dots too!

Hopefully the i9500 or whatever Canon is going to call it, will be produced sooner than later.
