Would you get S-line 24-70 f4?

I have been tempted by the apparent discount on the Z zoom but is this real or just Nikon over pricing the zoom on its own, to encourage people to buy it with the body?

i am seriously considering going with the 50mm and waiting for better zooms next year.

I expect we'll start seeing reviews in the near future that will tell us just how real the Z 24-70 S really is.

I want a Z6 + 24-70 f/4 as the compliment (not replacement) to my D850. But this is also because my current standard zoom is the 24-85 - hardly Nikon's best lens. I have f/2.8 zooms for wider or longer, but I like the small easy walk around lens.

I like the small size and inconspicuousness of my a6300 with its famously... barely adequate kit lens, so a really good kit lens is appealing to me and then I can adapt everything else.

However, if I had an f/2.8 24-70 that I really like, I'd probably just skip the 24-70 f/4, unless I wanted to go smaller and lighter.
I just sold my a6300 with famous kit lens. :-) Thinking about the 24-70 f/4 though!

I'm considering of changing my pre-order in thailand. I pre-ordered full set but now thinking not getting the lens. Only the body and adapter. Other than size and weight, can you think of any reason why I would want to use 24-70 f4 over my old non-VR 24-70 f2.8 with an adapter?
I preordered the Z6 with the 24-70/4 and the FTZ adapter. I think the 24-70 could be absolutely brilliant. If it's tack sharp edge to edge at f4 it's an excellent choice. Especially if wanting to travel light. If I'm not mistaken it is way cheaper to buy it in the kit than buying it later on separately...?

I think it's a no-brainer really.

If so why keeping your older and heavier bigger lens?

Not necessarily. Others may want the advantages that EVF and on sensor AF can bring. Others look on the promised better optics offered now or in the future.

I have both, but in my opinion, the greatest and immediate advantage of the Z is weight saving, and the kit lens is the

I have already tried both 24-70 f/2.8 and the new f/4 on the Z7 body. The new one was even better in sharpness especially in the corner, VR on both was on. 35mm/f1.8S is absolutely fantastic!

Inlokte the z for IBIS in vintage glass, hoping fir m42 adapters. Full frame AF point and EVF.

For size, you need to look at Fuji and m43.
