Hi,

What are the necessary Accessories required to use Sony Cybershot DSC-F717 normally? If so, could you please let me know the Accessories (Filters, Lenss and so on) and the product names?

I really appreciate your response.

Thank you,
Nikee

Nothing - its a great camera. After using my F707 for 14 months I upgraded last week.
Now, for your real question.
1. tripod

2. I have the remote release, it's great for portraits and still life as well as long exosures

3. Neutral density filters to help adjust exposure, particularly in IR photography and when trying to decrease depth of field
4. IR filter (I have Harrison and Harrison's) if you want to do IR photography
5. Flash - for added light
6. extra memory sticks

Now there are more things I have - different battery charger (portable 12 volt rapid), slave flashes with stands and umbrellas and diffusers, filters and more filters, different tripods for specific uses, close up lenses, tele and wide angle adapters. Boy, that's a lot. No wonder my wife complains.
I grew up doing 35mm and 2 1/4 photography, this has been a natural extension.
Hope that helps.

Nikee,

Craig compiled a very good list. The tripod would be high on my list too. I'd add a case for the camera, and maybe one for your accessories (or maybe the same case?), and a linear polarizer. The need for the case is obvious, and the LP will help with most daylight shots. It will cut glare/flare off of non-metallic surfaces (like water, windows, leaves, etc...) and darken up the sky.

Hello Steve & Craig,

Thanks for information.

You folks are recomending me to go for 3 piece Filter Kit (UV, CPL, FLD).

How about the Wide Angle Lens & Telephoto Lens ?

Do you folks use these lenses? If so what is the difference between them.

Thank you,
Nikee

I have been looking at the wide angle lens. The only problem that I have (and has kept me from plunking down $200 for it) is that is seems extremely large. Can someone who has this lense comment.

My thoughts are that if I don't purchase the lense, stitch two shots together in PS to get any wide angle effects that I am looking for.

Of course, I would prefer to just shoot with the actual lens, but not shure I an deal with the size and weight of it that I have read about.

I use my accessory lenses (tele and wide angle) not that often. 95% done with original equipment. Special needs such as doing interior work (real estate) - a wide angle may be used more. The telephto is too heavy and bulky to use without a tripod, limiting its use to landscape, wildlife, not really sports (unless it's really slow action).
I agree with the other suggestions.
