Bad Beast in Action: See the Video!

This may be the first "real world" sighting of the Nikon P1000 in action. 4K too!

There are some supposedly P1000 videos on Youtube but it's not in 4K and I question the authenticity.
..looks very interesting, thanks for sharing this find! :-)

..however, it does need to be 'verified'..

..but impressive how stable 'parts' of the video zoom seems to be very stable..

..but then there's other parts of the video that seems very jittery..

..maybe different settings was used, not sure though..

..Cheers..

Well the fact that the zoom is very P900 like and the video is in 4K, it gives good confidence that it is the P1000.

What other Bad Beast of a camera currently can do that level of zoom in 4K right now?

Answer: none
..that's a good point, being it's in 4K! :-D

..thanks for clarifying on that.. :-)

..now going to take another look of this video.. ;-)

..Cheers..

It was not a very good place to take high-zoom video, with all the haze in the air and distortion of light waves by the heat. The 3,000mm zoom can't be used to good effect, when there's conditions like that in the air.

That's exactly what I would like to say, Steve! Generally I don't do video, but I know that kind of haze and distorsions from my telephoto end shots on sea:

I don't believe this is the Nikon P1000.

The guy uploaded this a month ago, which he claims is taken with "Sony 4K" and it looks a lot like it:

Two and a half month ago he uploaded this, where he doesn't specify the camera:

I wouldn't bet anything that he doesn't have a Nikon P1000 and that those three 4K movies are all from the same camera, possibly upscaled from 1080p... but it certainly looks like it. :)

Unfortunately, you are probably right. Lot's of people riding the novelty factor to up the views on their Youtube channels. For their own self-esteem boost.

But we all won't have too much longer to wait for the real deal to appear.

I am already making a list of places I will be shooting with my P1000 so show off it's zoom zoom zoom.
