G9X soft on right side

I bought a Canon G9X a few months ago. I've been on the fence about it though. When zoomed out to tele, the images are a bit murky and soft on the right third side. It is this way in about every shot. Attached are two examples. The left side always has a nice sharpness and the right a bit soft. These are from 12mp jpeg setting. I'm a bit disappointed in the lens quality overall, so just use 12mp.

If I send it in, I wonder if they'll just send it back saying that it is "within spec". Am I just too picky?:-D

Hi: Had a G9X with the same issue. Called Canon. Told to go to menu and apply reset (all functions). Then turn off camera an then turn back on. Problem resolved. Sharp images as before. Hope this helps. Bob
