Best settings shooting low-light

I just purchased the A900 and like the variety of settings. Each Coolpix gets better with more features.

Can anyone provide their recommendations for best camera settings for getting decent shots of glow worms inside a cave. I don't have any way to practice this before I get there. And I don't want to be disappointed with shots I get after this tour. Any advice would be helpful.

I don't know the A900, but reading its specs, I think it is not the best camera for the job.

I would use manual mode: set the SS at a "safe" value, depending on the Focal Length, your steadiness, and the performance of VR (maybe 1/10s), set aperture at the maximum (lowest number value), set iso to auto, and use spot metering, trying to focus on the glow worms.
