Hi, I'm in dilemma on choosing which camera to go, I take videos and pictures, so the PIcture Profile is really important for me to color grade, I've seen some articles saying that A7s Slog2 base iso is 3200, does A7s contains other Picture Profile as well such as Cine1/2/3/4 or Slog3?

Will there be a big different for me to pick A7s over A6300?

Thanks!

The A7S is getting on in years, and I say this as an A7 shooter. That being said, if video is the majority of your work, it's quite awesome for that and an ISO monster. If you want to emphasize stills, I'd probably recommend the 6300 instead.

A quick google shows that yes both cameras have the same Picture Profiles and yes the a7s base iso in slog2 is 3200.

The a7s is geared more towards video but being the first model its video features aren't that great. It's only 1080p/50mb/s and 120fps at 720p/50mb/s while the a7s2 can do 4k and 1080p/100mb/s and 120fps at 1080p. Likewise the a6300 can do 4k and 120fps in 1080p. The a6300 will also have way better AF and cheaper lenses.

If you shoot video, the A6500 should be considered over the 6300. IBIS helps for both stills and video!

My budget only allows me to get either one of them, the a7s II is a bit over budget for me, well the 4k isn't my main concern ,what I concern is the video quality @1080p because there are few forums says that the 1080@ a6300 is worse than a7s

Yep, I was considering a6500 too, but I'm not sure the IBIS worth the $$ , with the $$ I can get another lens or keep it for a gimbal

I just went through this decision process and ended up with the a6300. I wanted to go full frame but the cost is so high that I would have had to go with cheaper glass. So my goofball strategy was grab the 6300 while on sale at $750 and spend on lenses. The curveball is that I mostly bought FE glass. I have the E 16-70 Zeiss, FE 28mm f2, and the FE 70-300G. Next year I'll add a FE body (likely a7III) and a premium standard zoom. Basically, a growing kit. I bought and returned the 18-105mm without opening it because I strongly prefer the 16mm wide end of the Zeiss, but the 18-105mm is supposed to be great for video and in some ways I regret sending it back.
