Super Reflecta 55mm f1.4 (Tomioka)

Lots of info here :

but all in German .

However you can see that Büro-und Rechenmaschinenfabik in Liechtenstein did make cameras and lenses but not those that are discussed here.

So they came up with that Carena name for Porst and then Porst kept using it for stuff made by other manufacturers.

( I had no idea that cameras were ever made in Liechtenstein)

Interesting. I studied German for just a year at school just before my family emigrated to Australia. Long since lost to me .

But I did find the full story of the famous Curta Calculator elsewhere and the firm's (Contina AG) adventure into cine camera manufacture (via a corporate subsidiary Carena SA?) and the eventual saviour - the well known present Hilti company also from Liechtenstein. That the company was in financial trouble at the time and the brand name Carena was taken over by Interdiscount AG of Switzerland. Who were a huge Electronic Goods Discounter and among other acquisitions became the force behind Porst in 1982.

Maybe they took over the effectively bankrupt Carena SA shell?

They then "imported camera equipment from the Far East". The Carena CX300 camera was made by Cosina and it might be a fair guess that the lenses came from the same source.

In the German history I note the name Steinheil mentioned but I could not follow the gist. But I might wonder if some of the cine camera expertise came from that source.

The original cine camera at least seems to have been called "Contina".

Also Zeiss-Ikon made a series of cameras called "Contina" but I don't think there is any connection.
