A7r MKIII trip to Iceland Failed

Bummer. On the upside, every fjord, geyser and snjowflake in Iceland has been shot to death anyway:)

and

Your next trip will be surprising marvellous.

Well, those "snaps" do look pretty spectacular though. Thanks for sharing your experience, hope you will get a "second chance". One of the problems with Iceland (and other iconic photo places) is that expectations are so incredibly high.

Very good advice, but I would add the following:

I put many of the best photos I took of our travels on my wife's computer as alternating desktop backgrounds. She has enjoyed them so much that she now seems to have much more patience with my stop, shoot and go tours. She is even less begrudging about occasionally carrying my tripod (for brief periods)!
Great Idea!!!
I still feel like I do my "best" photography when I'm on my own and following my own instincts and pace, but I also love traveling with my wife.

Cheers

Thank you and yes I have set myself high expectation, which I now know were unrealistic.

Most of the Landscape photo vlogs I watched on you tube were where they were on their own sometimes at 2am in the morning!!!

Cheers
