Hello, & thank you-new to dpreview. I've just read the manual & have approx 20 questions about the X-T2, can anyone briefly go through them with me, please? i would be most grateful, thanks

Ask then one at a time, spread out, in this forum.

BUT be prepared to be told to read the manual again and experiment.

:-)

Don't feel bad, it is a complex camera.

Have you looked at some Youtube videos on the X-T2? Sometimes you can get really good info, stay away from unboxing and short reviews and look for one that highlights features or a walk through. I make many playlists on youtube of my varying interests.

I strongly recommend you get the Fuji XT2 120 X pert tips that probably anwer most of your questions, written in a more pedagogic way than a manual

You can get either paper or e copy That will give you a good and compelling lurning curve

That said you can on focused questions that can be reasonably answered in short messages use PM with me

Thank you, but 21 ?'s & their various threads will probs bring down the cloud! I was hoping for an X-T2 expert to shed a little light on a novice. Regards andy p

Just group your related questions and start with a post or two. People here are certainly helpful and you’ll get better results by not flooding the forum with a ton of separate questions. You can certainly do multiple posts over a few days, if necessary, but with that many questions, it’s hard to imagine that you can’t combine related ones into a much smaller number of posts.

Oh... and follow Baobob’s advice below. The 120 tips “book” is invaluable. Do some reading and you’ll find that a lot of your questions can be answered that way.

I'm sure we'll be glad to help. I also suggest you use Google and ask the question there, then try to apply what you've learned. As someone pointed out, there's a lot of YouTube videos that can help as well.

youve asked this question on other fuji x forums, how many diffrent forums do you think you can ask 20 diffrent questions on?

ok I'll do with my available time :-)

thank you, i'll post them in small groups-if thats ok? regards andy p
The search function is your best friend. The 120 tips book is good - some tips aren’t worthy of being in a book but do indeed come across as ‘advice’ with certain obvious questions.

Otherwise, just start scanning the form on your PC and go page by page looking for good threads.

The fuji website has highly useful webpages too...I am thinking about the AF explanations that they have. And, along that line, take a look at the detail of the various firmware upgrade lists Fuji has put together in the cameras support webpage. You will find new capabilities of your camera with each version of firmware upgrade. Then go find the detail on how to use those particular adds that Fuji implemented in the upgrade.

Tony Northrup has a 90 minute YouTube video specifically on the camera and it is unbelievably invaluable for a new user...it was for me!

Another suggestion would be to see which forum participants have the X-T2 camera and start searching for their posts or threads with them as the OP. There is so much information in this forum that it is a treasure trove already. You will get up to speed with practice, practice and more practice.

Time in equals a quality user experience...if you understand the basics of this powerful camera.

Good luck!

Hello, & thank you. As many as possible to get the information I need-can you help please?. Regards andy p

Why don't you just ask your questions?

Try going to the camera store you purchased the camera from. The sales people are a font of good information. In addition, the factory reps stop by at the stores. The stores mention when they are going to stop by if they have a web site (Who doesn't have a web site?).

I did this two weeks ago. The silly thing wouldn't autofocus. I knew the camera wasn't broken. I couldn't figure out what I had done. As a result I manually focused. The world as I knew it didn't come to an end. The kind Fuji rep checked a few things and the focus setting was changed. Once the problem was identified it was easy to solve. My light box autofocuses again!!!

Until you figure out how to work your new light machine, put the shutter and aperture in automatic and let it figure things out. Then progress to you selecting one and keep the other in automatic.

Jerry, maybe a case of mild da-da-ism?? The thread is now 20 messages long (not 21 yet, mind you!) - and not a single out of the 21 questions (why not 20?) has been asked.

Deed ;-)
