I've been processing my raws from my D600 and D7200 in Lightroom 6.14 (standalone) and the raws are processed just fine, no complaints.

All D810 raw processing rerviews I've read, in Lightroom/PS, have been from 2014 when apparently the version of ACR then just didn't play nice with D810 raws. And the reviews were not favorable. The reviewers all hoped that future iterations would straighten things out.

It's 2018. Do the latest ACR/Lightroom editions work OK with D810 raws? Thanks.

Yes it does indeed. The D810 is a wonderfull camera, and the image quality and dynamic room really does shine in ACR/Lightroom. Only thing is the large files combined with the “slow” code from Adobe does tax your computer quite a bit. But it’s certainly well worth the effort as the output is easily among the best possible from all the cameras available today (pretty incredible since its almost four years after release)

Agreeing with DerKeyser. If you're going to upgrade your camera to one that takes 36 MP images and previously you had a camera that took 16 MP images (the D7000), you will most likely need more computer horsepower, especially if you want to use a 4K or larger monitor.

And I have a pretty fast computer I built last year so I'm set for photo processing.
Smart! Too many people don't realize that newer cameras with more megapixels often require faster hardware.

I just didn't want to be surprised once I did start running D810 through LR6.14 and not have the output as incredible as I've been told the D810 files are. We'll see. I'm pretty excited about this. Camera arrives next week sometime.
I like the output from Nikon's own software, so if you have any doubts at all you can just download the Nikon software and compare the two.

Check out the Xrite Color Passport. With that and the associated software, you make your own camera calibration profiles for given lighting situations. I find that it gives much better colors in the blue and greens for the D810.

Once you have the profiles in LR, you can make your favorite on the development default.
