What Happened to Sony Alpha??

If a lens doesn't fit on the A7RIII, but did fit on the A7RII, how is that a user issue?
If you're referring to the thread where the OP titled the thread ' A7r3 not compatible with Sony FE 35mm F2.8', the lens does fit, but fits very tightly..

To use the words ' doesn't fit' or 'not compatible' implies , to me, that the user was not able to mount the lens on the R3 at all, which was not the case.
One individual reported on DPR that he actually had to use so much force to install the 35mm lens that it actually scored the lens flange. He returned the lens to Sony for a refund. I guess you're right though. By your definition the lens did fit ;-)

Sounds like something was amiss in that instance - though whether the 'problem' was with the lens or the camera - and whether either or both left the factory in that state - is another matter.

If other lenses mounted without issue on the same camera body, it suggests the problem was with the flange of the lens - that it was out of spec/tolerance, that it had suffered an impact, or perhaps both...

"What happened to sony Alpha" if by this you mean they will have more sales than ever, users switching for Nikon and Canon at a rapid rate, new lenses coming soon.

I would say what happened is they hit it out of the park and are doing better than they could have ever imagined.

If you are saying there maybe a hire number of issues reported, see the above! Higher sales volume = higher number of issues even if your quality stays the same or improves. Many new to sony users not sure how to use the camera.

I'll admit that there are issues that are as you describe. However, at least with the recent 24-105 lens reports, it's not "perceived". Sony has now acknowledged that there are real problems and will be fixing them:

Cameron,

Thanks for the link. While it would surely be better if Sony did not have the 24-105mm quality problem, it is encouraging to see them step up-to-the-plate and address the fault. The other reported issue that serial number labels have been falling off Sony lenses could make it difficult to identify a defective lens and/or submit it for repair under warranty.
