I am a Freelance Aviation photographer & I use the Fuji S-1 Bridge camera as a back up to my Cannon EOS 70D camera .

I have to use the Cannon for Aircraft in flight as the Fuji is a little slower on the shutter with fast moving objects.

Otherwise the Fuji S-1 gives superb photos similar to my Cannon with a 100x 300mm lens & weighs less& is more compact& ideal for limited spaces.

One can stop it down to enable to take photos where FLASH is not allowed & gives good results ( Ei Churches & some Museums )

5 x 5 stars for the S1? Really? Lol. And I've been using the same cam for nearly 3 years. Reach is good but image quality is average for a sensor that small. But I like the Super CCD. I really hated those EXR sensors for like yeeears. ...

My S-1 is my favorite for vacations. I first heard about it when I was attending a photography class and the instructor, a professional photographer, recommended it for general all around use. He had one and brought it to class to show and that sold me. I have been happy with it ever since.

I thoroughly enjoyed shooting with that camera and would even like to grab a used one right now as I have a hockey game to attend and I'd like the reach. Alas, used prices are insane these days. Meanwhile ... a blast from the past (all taken with the S1 of course):

The reach is amazing, but the close focusing is pretty decent too. Sharpness is excellent as well, even at higher ISOs.

Thank you Mr. Letkeman, you're article is what persuaded my first S1 purchase, something I have never regretted. I just got my second S1 in the mail, taking a chance on a $225. used purchase. It is pristine, I don't think the flash has ever been raised. Anyway my Grandson inherited my old one. He'll have to memorize the controls because I wore the identification off. She never missed a lick.
