Just curious. there are instuctions on how to attach it, but there wasn't one in the box.

My B700 did not come with a cord for the lens cap, which was too easy to inadvertently knock off, so it wasn't long before it was lost. The after-market lens cap I bought to replace it did come with a cord and was also a better design since it's not as easy to knock off.

There's also no way to attach a lens hood, an.item that would have kept the origin lens cap from being inadvertently knocked off. Having no way to even attach a lens hood was a very strange design decision on Nikon's part.

So two responses - one with, and one without. That's strange. Anyone else out there want to comment. Seems odd that it would randomly be there, or not.

I don't have the B700 camera, but I do have the Reference Manual and there, on page #14, says: "How to Attach the Camera Strap and the Lens Cap", thus there should be a lens cap cord in the box.

Happy shooting,

Augustin - yep, that's what I was referring to. But 2 out of 3 of us didn't get one. I just called the place I bought it and they said they don't know if there is supposed to be one or not and I should contact Nikon directly.

Mine did not come with a cord for the lens cap. Considering I'm taking it on a trip soon, that was a bummer. I will be purchasing one online so I do not lose my lens cap!
