Thanks Richard....it was a sunny day so reducing the EV's was essential to avoid blown highlights. The 500mm f4 is worth every shekel and works wonderfully with the Sony a99m2 as well.Just amazing shots Martin ... thanks heaps for sharing and inspiring!
May I ask / confirm ... the -0.7 Ev is to make sure you don't blow out the whites I think?
I have the 77 m2 ... now to save the shekels for the 500 F4

Lovely shots Richard...lucky you. While the northern hemisphere is experiencing diabolical freezing/snow, you wisely chose to fly south!A few from late December as I'm travelling in Western Australia at the moment and have only just reached 'civilization' in Perth.
I would highly recommend the Southern Beaches around Albany and Esperance ... hope the pics below do it justice!
Hellfire Beach Cape Le Grand ... about 65 kms East of Esperance ... most beautiful beach I've seen!
Further round Hellfire Beach ... rock fishing is popular but dangerous ... colour is very much as seen by eye!
Twilight Beach just west of Esperance
Yes Australian's are indeed as capable of being stupid as anyone else! (Bloody dangerous pastime!)
Pelican landing - Bremer Bay Estuary
Just liked the light on this tree - Bremer Bay Estuary
Bremer Bay - between Esperance and Albany
Hope you enjoy
Richard
