Hi guys,

I just got the X100F yesterday but already having trouble with the setting.

The first problem I have is that I can't seem to get the camera to constantly display where my focus point is when I'm in EVF or OVF mode. As I use single point AF, I want to leave the focus square on the screen at all time so I can operate it quickly. Right now, little focus point square/indicator disappears about half a second after I have released the shutter and I have to half-press the shutter for it to come back out again.

The second problem is that I can't seem to set the metering mode. I have changed the FN buttons in the menu so that FN key on the top right of the camera would be the photometric key, but I once it's set, I just can't get it to work. I press the button repeatedly, in OVF, EVF, screen mode, and nothing happens.

The third problem is more of a complaint -- coming from a Nikon DSLR user, I just find the tiny buttons incredibly sensitive and I accidentally changed the setting in the middle of the shoot because I inadvertently touched a button or turned a nob.

That sounds like you have the clean/uncluttered display in effect. Press the Disp/Back button to toggle through the displays (the one with the most in-camera indicators around the display will have the AF point continuously displayed).

If you prefer the uncluttered display one can customize which settings/features are displayed on the "cluttered" screen (Screen Settings / Disp. Custom Settings).
The second problem is that I can't seem to set the metering mode. I have changed the FN buttons in the menu so that FN key on the top right of the camera would be the photometric key, but I once it's set, I just can't get it to work. Odd. I had my Fn set to ND Filter toggle, but just changed it to Photometry and it calls up the metering mode when pressed. I also assigned it to the shutter type (M, E, M+E), which does change it from one type to the next when pressed, but I can only see in the display that it is changed when I have the same screen in effect that allows the AF point to display.
The third problem is more of a complaint -- coming from a Nikon DSLR user, I just find the tiny buttons incredibly sensitive and I accidentally changed the setting in the middle of the shoot because I inadvertently touched a button or turned a nob.
That's the age old problem called adjusting to something different. It doesn't always work out as one hopes, yet. . . ;)

Thanks for the help. I have checked almost every single box in the Disp. Custom settings and still, the focus square disappears after a fraction of a second and only comes back up when I operate the joystick.

Again, pressing the FN key doesn't do anything at all.

Should I reset the camera or should I bring it back to the store?
I'd try the reset first.

The recipe you were given for resolving this did not involve the checking of boxes. Consult this manual page for more: http://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x100f/parts/button_disp-back/index.html

Actually, I just resolved the second problem. Apparently I can't set metering mode when I have face recognition turned on. This is really weird.
But you did set a metering mode when you turned on face recognition. You told your camera to meter off the face it recognized (as well as to focus on that face). The manual is not good about pointing this metering effect out.
