I found this picture interesting. Press in trump meeting with south Korean president yesterday.

aside from those camcorders, everyone uses Canon. i found it interesting
Kind of sad that journalists are not given options to choose a brand they want to shoot with. My quickly psychological analysis tells me, they are Canon shooters by day, and Sony shooters by night.
I've been a photojournalist for over 35 years. I've always shot with any camera I desired and could afford. At one time the larger newspapers might provide a few high-end "pool" lenses (300 f/2.8, 400 f/2.8, 600 f/4), some might even provide or subsidize cameras, but most newspapers I saw generally had Nikon pool gear. Freelancers, of course, almost universally supply all their own gear.

So, if you see everyone using Canon, or Nikon, it is because they trust and rely upon that gear to get the job done. And no, I don't own a Sony.

You must be clairvoyant. I could see me being a daytime Canon shooter and possibly a Nikon night shooter, but Sony? Not a chance.

Did you know that there are 12 Hasselblad cameras currently sitting on the surface of the moon? The cameras that shot those iconic images of the moon’s surface between 1969 and 1972 were left there to allow for the 25kg of lunar rock samples that were brought back instead. Only the film magazines were brought back.

For black and white they used 70mm perforated Kodak Panatomic-X ‘fine-grained’ film with an ASA rating of 80. For color, they could’ve used any combination of Kodak Ektachrome SO–68, Kodak Ektachrome SO–121, and Kodak 2485, the latter of which featured a ‘super light-sensitive’ ASA rating of 1,600.

The attached photo is of a Blad which was used on the Apollo 15 mission in 1971, it was lucky enough to make the return journey as most did not.

mandmp; 100% of my income since 1972 has been due to a camera in my hand. My hobby turned into an enjoyable & profitable career. Retired in 2008ish I now shoot for fun and for charities (for free).

Happily, the cameras weren't made of plastic and were all mechanical back then. Otherwise, the heat would have melted the case and wrecked havoc with electronics!!!

People buy canon because they know it makes nikon fans green with envy for not having "popular" cameras. This is a industry secret.

Also, some people simply can`t afford spending more money on a lesser camera just because it has the Nikon logo- my case.

It is an excellent secret. So secret you may be the only one in on it.

Hey, what can I say....get a better job....LOL!

A good effort by you, nonetheless. ;)

Yet the camera of choice on the moon missions was Hasselblad .

At least with those large cameras pictured , weight won’t be a problem in space ; although could be a problem in re-entry :)
They just kept the film. That is why I'm building a rocket to go and get the cameras. :-)

The only picture I’m interested is the one I will make when my D850 preorder arrives.

That Photo is from RT (Russia Today), so it must be Fake News!
