I owned a silver X100T, sold it, then about six months later decided I wanted to have one again, and bought a black one. I have to be honest, both X100Ts were used and my decision was based purely on what was available on the used market at the time and how good a deal I could get; I didn't even consider the color in either case. But the experience between the two was different.
I soon discovered that the silver X100T could, at times become a people magnet. Total strangers would not the X100T and come up to ask if I was using an old film. At times, if I was trying to blend in unnoticed or trying to get a particular, this attention could be an annoyance. But at other times, the question let to a pleasant conversation. that normally I would never have the nerve to initiate, and could lead to getting a casual portrait.
With the black X100T, I was back to being a fly on the wall at most events or travel locations, unless I was the only person with a camera. But even then, while lots of people noticed me and the camera, nobody was interested enough to as about it.
