We have seen a slew of new high frame rate cameras and zoom lenses introduced over the past few years that emphasize sports and Birds.

But how far do we have to go back to find Sports or Birds as our challenge. I don’t know, I gave up after going back 4 years.

So this challenge will be Photos of birds in flight or stationary. I know we have many excellent wildlife and birding photographers out there. Looking forward to seeing your submissions,

Show us your best and Good luck.

RULES

1. You may post two images. Please show your EXIF data. If you want to post an image but not be in the competition please mark it as an EXHBITION.

2. Current Host chooses the winner after closing and is not eligible to win. Judging is based on Original Content, Technical Skill, Composition, Artistic Merit and Overall Impact (not necessarily in that order).

3. The winner then chooses the next topic, runs the challenge, judges the winner and passes the baton to that person. If the winner fails to post a new Challenge within 72 hours of being declared the winner then the runner-up should post the new Challenge within a further 24 hours.

4. ANY NIKON CAMERA IS ALLOWED.

5. If you would like constructive criticism on your own entry, put 'CC' in the title to so indicate.

Please EMBED your image in the thread. Try to resize your images prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without scrolling.

6. No time limit on the date taken.

REMEMBER TO REPLY TO THE FIRST POST OF THIS THREAD! GIVE YOUR ENTRY A TITLE.

Challenge ends Friday October 13, 2017 Eastern Standard Time

This is my favorite bird shot. I have quite a few but this one always struck a cord with me mainly because its a classic bird pose, along with the background color complimenting the birds coloring (got lucky on that one).

When I was fishing with my dad he would always ask me, "Do you pray for fish?"
Now as I get my camera out I thank the lord for a lovely day, and ask him for a bird to grace my lens.

I've only just started playing around with bird photography and picked up a big lens (Sigma 150-500) two weeks ago. Still figuring things out, but thought this was pretty fun.

Sorry about the cliche title but this lake is literally the swan's lake. No other life around (unless you count me).

This image does look better viewed large and I did post a nice sized file.
